The Hallmark Payroll department is responsible for timely and accurate payment of over 20,000 employees in multiple corporations across the US and Canada.  The Payroll Department is a fast paced, deadline driven work environment.  There are always new challenges as we adapt to constantly changing legislation and corporate policies.  We are responsible for maintaining, processing, and distributing wage payments, supplemental wages, employee deductions and payroll taxes in compliance with Hallmark policies and federal, state, and local laws. We provide related information to employees, internal and external customers, and governmental agencies while ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.

The Payroll Financial Analyst plays a key role in paying all 20,000 Hallmark employees accurately and timely.  This includes, but is not limited to, processing multiple payroll cycles on a weekly basis.  The payroll process encompasses everything from the running of pre-payroll reports looking for potential issues, transferring of timecards from multiple sources, processing the payroll, to releasing the funds to the bank.   The analyst is also responsible for analyzing complex issues, and designing and implementing best solutions.   This person will work closely with other departments, such as Human Resources and Benefits, to ensure all aspects of the paycheck are handled accurately.  They will also provide customer service support for the exempt employee population and processing of transactions unique to that population.

  • 5+ years payroll experience

  • Experience and understanding of an in-house integrated payroll system and the interaction between different payroll components such as time reporting, benefit feeds, sequence of processing, etc.   


  • Strong analytical skills to be applied to complex payroll issues.  Includes identification, analysis and resolution of the issue.

  • Experience using Oracle E Business Suite for all payroll tasks including  payroll adjustments, payroll processing, off-cycle checks, etc.

  • Ability to see the big picture, take proactive measures, and identify process improvements

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment in order to meet constant and critical deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective interaction with key business partners

  • Leadership qualities that enable this person to lead team efforts in an efficient resolution to a situation. 

  • Ability to apply subject matter expertise to assist team members with questions and to participate in the training of other team members
